Vijendran a.k.a DJ Karma with over 10 years of experience behind him started his career with a deep passion in the clubbing industry conceptualizing and promoting concept events. Traveling To New Zealand to attend high school and a Degree in Electrical engineering, he worked closely with local clubs to promote the electronic music industry giving birth to a new local lifestyle. Being a DJ himself played an advantage in understanding the need of the market allowing him to implement some of the most experiential events. Returning to Malaysia, he teamed up with some of the regions local clubs to implement concept nights to boost club sales, which proved beneficial to many which saw him being invited to cities around Malaysia to apply the same. He’s exemplary strategy was nothing more than giving the consumer merely what they wanted in a differently thought approach proving successful in a memorable experience. At the age of 22, he left to India to pursue his education in Information Technology. In India he worked closely with companies like Coca Cola, Fosters, Kingfisher, and Smirnoff developing and producing strategic brand experiences to boost area sales. Completing his IT degree, he opted to do his Masters in Public Administration. Upon his completion, he spent a year in Pondicherry, a French union territory in India working closely with the Pondicherry Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) promoting it to be of a Tourist destination. Not only conducting experiential events, he worked closely on strategic tourism promotional concepts which portrayed the visual language and message of the city. “Destination Pondicherry” one of his strategic branding activity gathered over 2500 attendees per event, which saw an influx of tourist every weekend in the city. A Malaysian boy at heart decided it was time to ‘balik kampung’ and upon his return, provided consultancy for Heineken’s Music agency working primarily on its brand message. His consultation focused on the OMI (Online Music Intelligence), Pint Glass Competition and Heineken Thirst Studio 06 along with Heineken Green Room Sessions and Heineken Music Lab.
